Though I do feel like it should be available for people under 18, I still do think there should be an age limit. Like maybe 13 and under shouldn't get it. I do understand the concerns of some people though, because you don't stop growing until you're around 18-21. If you get top surgery too early, it stunt your growth or just mess up your body in general. But I'm all for kids having the right to their own bodies. |

I completely agree with what you’re coming from but I’d like to ask where you got that surgery would stunt growth? Removing a few glands and tissue wouldn’t affect growth at all actually. It doesn’t affect bone structure or anything that might stunt growth. Top surgery wouldn’t be done on a child as younger than 15 if my memory serves me right. The chest must be developed to a certain level for top surgery to work properly. I do agree that it does mess up your body since it’s an irreversible action but, a child who’s getting it that young usually suffers from pretty bad dysphoria, so they’ll understand the risks and still do the surgery because that’s what makes them free.
