I know this feeling soooo well, dude. What really helped me was starting to consider enrichment one of those 'essentials' categories and to set aside a percentage of money I got just for it (like saving money for emergency funds!). Maybe that would help? 

Instead of spending a bunch of money from a single paycheck, maybe save up for a handful of months from multiple paychecks! Buying more expensive things becomes less harrowing when it's "I've been sitting on this for a while and still want it" and "I can afford it with the extra money I set aside for my enrichment fund!". 

edit: It's also how I ended up with my book collection and my Guitar Hero guitar! I consider these items huge parts of me even though they were things I considered frivolous purchases at first (I can read books online, I can play other games, etc). It makes me realize that investing in oneself is defo super important for keeping up with who you are.

I got a crisp 1.42 dollars chilling in my account and I think at times of buying Elden Ring 😑
