Things like these are more so something that depends on how both parties feel. If he was making these as jokes and you both were okay with it, and both knew that they were just for laughs, it'd be different. But if he is "joking" in a way that hurts your feelings or makes you feel less confident or more dumb, that is something that should be talked about. If you haven't already, you should tell him how his jokes aren't funny to you. If he listens and stops, good! but if he continues to make jokes that are hurtful and make you feel upset, then that is not good. Boundaries are very important in all relationships, and sometimes people don't deliberately try to hurt someone and they don't see anything wrong with what they say. That doesn't mean that its a good thing to say, though. What matters is how you feel and if he changes his ways after knowing his jokes are hurtful. Also, I wanna let you know that its completely valid to feel lonely even if you have friends. And that you are definitely not dumb, everyone has different thought processes and that's completely okay! |
