I don't know much about Alt Fashion but what works for me is to follow people on instagram that dress up in the way I like and break down their outfits. Pinterest works too, obviously! Most of the time it's the little things that make the outfit, like accessories, shoes, hairstyle, e.t.c

Another thing I do is reverse image search the pieces of the outfits on google, so I can find the exact one or something somewhat similar.

Buying second hand might also be a good fit for you!
