i have similar thoughts as yours; for the moderation part i didn't encounter any gore/pedos in here, but that's also because i didn't went too deep compared to the others complaining about it

and personally, i do think tiktok and pinterest are to blame for making spacehey becoming mainstream, because the toxicity from spacehey is similar to the toxicity from pinterest and tiktok (or possibly twitter/x) from what i've seen from my perspective

and yes, the moderation is currently being automated according to the creator's latest blog, much to most users' dismay... hence the reason you'd see a decent amount of blogs flaming the current moderation; i dont know if the creator would ever hire actual human moderators in the future.

p.s I joined spacehey last year way before they became invite only and there was a huge amount of drama regarding proships around last december iirc lmao

still though, even till this day spacehey still has drama but from what i've seen it's most likely some online friendship issues, that's why i use spacehey less bcos of the neverending awful stuff that happens
