Good one Ziv and thanks for bringing this along through the powerful and high-tech Zivgorithm that just been implemented on this website with the reinstation of Profile Badges.

This is what I actually did when I first came here and thankfully it came a long way.

I've been sharing this same advice to some over here for a while with similar Blogposts.

And about that this part here.....

"introduce yourself in the forum introduction category"

Honestly I haven't done that and I've said it here before I don't really have anything interesting to share about myself and that's the same reason why I haven't added much on my profile about myself. LOL XD

So that's that.

Again Nice Blogpost. :)

I've also previously offered similar advice to someone who was a little anxious about finding friends on here, mainly when it comes to conversation - take a moment to look at someone's profile, read their About Me or any introductory blogs they may have written, check out their interests table, and see if you share something in common! Heck, you can ask them to tell you more about something on their profile that you don't know much about, and if you get an answer, I would be surprised if they responded with something like "go away and do your own research lazy git." Bear in mind that not everybody will respond to you, that's just what happens online, but dropping a comment on their profile saying something like "I really like how pastel your profile looks, and the font choices match perfectly, good job!" or "bro, I used to watch the Numberjacks when I was a kid, man this takes me back! You have a favourite villain?" or "I've never read the Pictures of Dorian Grey before, but it looks like you enjoyed it! What's the basic premise, and what were your thoughts about the story and characters?" realistically shouldn't hurt you at all, and if they're overly nasty to you, block and move on (report if they're breaking the rules ofc)!

I also second finding blogs you're interested in, I wrote a Debian-related spiel a few months ago and one person commented on my choice of distro and shared some of their experience as a long-time Linux user, and while the conversation was short, it was highly enjoyable! Go and comment on blogs you're interested in, find profiles that have some of your interests, and make friends!!
