I'm so sorry for your loss, Milo is such a cute name for such an adorable cat, thank you for sharing about him here. My cat, Cadence, recently had to be put down it was also quite sudden so I understand the feeling. I understand the grief of losing a pet and it is really hard. And only last year our other cat, Biscuit, was put down too. I try to think of all the good experiences our cats had in life, their favourite food, their favourite places to be pet, their favourite places to sit. Reminding myself that they had great lives and were loved so much has helped me. My mum decided that it was time for us to get a new cat (her name is Lottie), and although I was apprehensive and scared (I didn't want Cadence & Biscuit to think we were forgetting them or moving on so quickly) it really has made all the difference. I don't know if it's something you are able to do but getting another cat filled the quietness of the house in the absence of Cadence & Biscuit, Lottie helps us to remember them in a positive way as we reminisce on similar things they used to do. She's not a replacement but a new member of the family. Another thing is photos, I've made sure to find my favourite photos of them and I'm getting around to printing them and putting them in an album which has been quite soothing. Maybe it would be helpful to you too. It does get better over time, the pain lessens and I can think of all the positive memories easier without so much upset. But crying can be helpful at times too, to get the emotions out and not bottle it all up. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss and I wish you well. Milo will be missed and remembered. 💕 |
