Some tips I think it might help on: The flat world makes your brain get already lose the motivation, because of flat and empty and big world. Instead of that, try to put some imperfections to it, like some small mountains, rivers and others. Other tip is to build separately, you can choose an specific area to build what you want, that way you will focus only on the little things and start filling your world by doing this.
