omg- yes. guinea pigs are absolutely adorable. i just hope you're not doomed by being the pet of a 7-year old menace that ends up putting you in the blender ''by accident'' (their words not mine)

i hate when rodents are given to children. like, i used to have like 5 guinea pigs as a kid and i was definitely gentle with them bc my parents watched me and taught me how to treat them, but their parents abuse and neglect those poor piggies and let their young kids throw them around. gen kinda sad

it's horrible. personally i don't think parents should be buying any pets for a kid if the kid isn't grown enough to understand the difference between living things and toys you can be rough with. it's nice to hear your guinea pigs were treated well though. i must say, it's really disgusting to hear that that's not the standard for pets. Pets should have a large amount of freedom and should be well-cared for, otherwise I don't think it's even right to have a pet. i definitely wouldn't want to be a pet that has no freedom whatsoever and receives too little food because their caregiver simply forgets sometimes.
