You're so right!! This is actually something I've been thinking a lot about lately! The quality of clothes is not very good from most stores like the ones you mentioned, there are a few places I shop online and their clothes were really good quality and lasted me a long time. Pacsun and Old Navy have never disappointed me! And Pacsun I know has a good selection of mens clothes. Their stuff has lasted me such a long time! Like years, and I gained and lost weight a couple times! But honestly these days it is not just the quality of clothes that sucks but fashion in general if I'm being honest. It feels like our generation (for context I am generation z) is just trying so hard to be "nonchalant" all the time to a point where no one tries anymore and everyone looks the same! There is no personality or standing out in being "nonchalant". I was like 5 in the early 2000s so I didn't care about fashion but I've been looking at a lot of 2000s fits on pinterest lately and I love how back then they weren't afraid to actually look like they tried! Like it's actually not so bad to throw on a cute outfit even if you're just going to the grocery store, like why not?!! Life is too short to wear nike tech suits, hoodies, crocs, and athleisure every single dayyy like c'monnnn. I also feel this generation sort of lacks some creativity when it comes to fashion cause a lot of our fashion trends don't last long or are inspired by the past. Like I don't know what we can really say was "ours" when we get older... |
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I basically just posted and ghosted this lol, but I agree a lot with what you're saying. I actually have shopped that pack some before. I just bought a pair of jeans and a shirt and also Hollister too. They do make good pairs of pants, even though they are expensive, but it's still worth it. And I also agree on your take regarding 2000s fashion. It's one of the main reasons why I love it so much and why I want to have clothes that are from the 2000s. I just really love the creativity and the detail in the way things were designed, not just clothing but the way things looked in general in the 2000s. Maybe it's because I've always just been a maximalist at heart, but yeah. And I do agree we're in a very throwback vintage era of fashion and pop culture and trends in general. It's just gonna be so weird looking back, thinking to ourselves, "Was this a 2000s thing or a 2020s thing?" Because of how hard we have tried to recreate that vibe and magic, but I do like it though.

No worries lol, I haven't been on here in like 2 days. I'd love to shop at Hollister but yeah they are expensive! That "was this a 2000s thing or a 2020s thing" comment is so real. I think it's also worth mentioning the beginning of the 2020s kinda sucked! Covid happened and we were all stuck inside, so much of our time was spent on tiktok, instead of being outside experiencing life, and we interacted with people online a lot to the point where when quarantine was over it was just awkward. It was like people forgot how to be people. And most of us were left feeling like our childhood was robbed in some way. So I wonder if the whole nostalgic vibe of gen z is a part of us that wishes we could either go back to a better time(for us older gen zs 2000s kids) or wishing we were apart of it if we were too young to experience it. This is something I think about a lot lol
