Why is modern clothing complete trash now?!?

Fun fact I was originally going to make a whole ass YouTube video about this, but the editing would have taken so much time so here’s is my post/rant.

Why the fuck is modern clothing so trash now?, personally for me this has been a problem since the late 2010s. why does it feel like every single clothing item I buy feels like it was made on Shein somewhere? It’s not even just the quality of clothes, even the style and the whole minimalism trend of fashion has just made shit rlly boring. Like I get it in the 2000’s it was more of a maximalist era so of course it would inevitably switch, but I seriously just miss the quality and character clothing used to have back then. Back when clothes were actually made to last and weren't made to fulfill some kind of micro or macro trend that would die off within a week.

Like, I genuinely can no longer go into a store and find clothes that I genuinely like and would see myself wearing. I would go to Macy's; it's all a bunch of cheap crap, and it's not really my style. I go to Burlington, Kohls, or TJ Maxx (TJ Maxx never has shit for mens section. ) I’m just going to say that And a shit ton of the clothes are not good quality and look like they would go through hell in the washer.  I'm also going to admit there was a time when I was buying from Shein for a good one or two years (which I'm not proud of) until I stopped.

Looking back, I only shopped on there because the prices and the clothing, especially design-wise really intrigued me and and kept me on there, even though the quality was not worth it. I would always think to myself, "Damn, this shirt at Macy's is like $50, and I could buy like 12 shirts on Shein for that same price." Even now, I have a good amount of shirts from Shein that I don't wear that are just either laying in my room or were sent to Goodwill or Depop, but there are some clothes that I bought from there that I still wear to this day, which genuinely look good, but I will never shop on there.

For the past year, I've been trying to do thrifting and shopping on Depop as a way to find vintage and 2000s-type clothing, even though my mom thinks that it's not good to buy second-hand and that it should all be new, like bro If these major stores actually had the clothes that I like and made better quality clothing, I wouldn't have to do this, alright?  I’m not saying that I enjoy thrifting, but id rather thrift a clothing item that would probably lasts me longer and doesn't end up in some landfill. Over a shirt that's brand new but it was overpriced and cheap as hell.

So if anyone who works at a clothing store or sources clothes for stores, please give us better quality clothes, and a better variety to choose from. Thank you.
