I'm a day later but... Well yesterday was an interesting day.
It was pretty okay until my first break, where we were given the awards for the english competition that took place a few months back. Technically I should have known my placement, the results were available for two months. Unfortunately my code didn't work and I didn't have a way to check my placement.
So guess my surprise when I was called on stage and then the teachers suddenly tell me I got first place in my school and 3rd in my federal state. I jumped over 100 spots from last year. Last year I was 1st in just my year in my school. This year in my entire school. And last year I was 106th in my federal state..
I was shaking so much on the stage that I dropped one of the prizes. And the teachers made me stand in the middle and front while taking the picture for the school news paper.
One thing I found rather funny, one person in our school got a trophy. But not for a good placement. No. She got it because she made the most mistakes..
I'm not kidding. In this competition if you make a mistake during a question 1/4 of the points get subtracted. Lets say for example an answer is worth 2 points. If you make a mistake, 0.5 points get subtracted. And she had the most wrong and.. The most points subtracted.
It's a bit sad because last year we were on the same level and now she fell quiet a bit down.
Unfortunately this wasn't where my day ended, however. Back in class, while I was excitedly telling my friend about my placement, she started grabbing all my prizes. Which I didn't mind until she started trying to open them.
???
Maybe I'm being petty but I worked so hard for this. And for a while I was super proud of myself, and she has to go and rip my prizes from me and try to open them as if she has some day over them. The worst part came when she tried to scratch my scratch card (yes, one of the rewards was a scratch card). Like? I won it from years of hard work. And even though looking back on it I'm not that happy about my placement i still worked so hard for this. And it made me so mad to see her rip my prizes out of my hand and try to open them.
The rest of the day was normal. We watched some theater piece which really sucked. It was this woman playing it alone with dolls and loud fucking music. My head hurt so much. And most people started falling asleep. The music didnt fit the play at all! She matched the lyrics rather than the melody. So during a sad scene and upbeat pop song would suddenly start playing.
Other than that my day was pretty okay. Even if I'm still kind of dissapointed of only getting 3rd in my federal state. But it's okay, it's a lot better than last year and much better than anyone in school so I can't even really complain. I got like 100 more points than the average, even more actually I think.
