Starting a new D&D campaign, something like the twentieth campaign I've ever run, and for the first time in that long career of games, I feel like I might be burnt out for the first time.
I'm struggling immensely with pulling together the creative spirit I need for it. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if I didn't have so many players counting on me and craving a good game. For these folk, D&D is something they look forward to every week, and I think the weight of that responsibility paired with a burnout feeling is crushing my spark a bit and prep is stressful instead of engaging and joyful.
It's past midnight and the game is tomorrow, and I still don't have a satisfying first session planned.
I just hope I'm not in my flop era.
I'm no stranger to feeling burnt out, it's just never happened with me with this particular hobby or even with creative endeavors overall.
Channel your creative well wishes into me my friends, I'm going to need it.
