☆彡 Customer service is apparently a personnality trait

It's really funny how, when I'm in work mode in an hotel I can talk to anyone, regulars, first-timer, foreigners and locals, "famous" people or not. I have absolutely NO PROBLEMS to ask questions, making small talk, smiling and acting like a normal functioning member of the society. EASY. As soon as my uniform is on, I'm the most sociable person alive ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

But the SECOND I'm off the clock ?

My brain is empty, my social skills run away and no word gets out of my mouth.

Someone looks at me and I suddently forget how to speak ?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T EVEN SAY HI? (ಥ﹏ಥ)

I think it's because work gives me a reason to talk ? There is a beginning, a purpose and an end. Outside of work, I'm just standing like a NPC wondering if saying that I like someone's look will ruin both of our life forever. (╬ Ò﹏Ó)

And it's exactly the same with my phone. If I call someone or something for my work or a client, I have absolutely no problems. But the same call for myself??? No way, I have to practice, look at the number for 20 minutes before writing an email or making a reservation online.

Texting isn't better, I don't text at work so I never do it without this spike of anxiety to stab my stomach and my brain. Texting someone without a specific reason is too much, I want to do it but my brain can't... I end up staring at my phone like it's a bomb I'm trying to defuse, write my text at least 12 times before leaving it in mt drafts until the sun explode and the universe goes dark...

So yeah, I don't hate you, I probably already tried to text you without ever sending my message. Apparently, my ability to make small talk for actual social confidence is only available during business hours ( ̄ω ̄;)

Me fr fr (╥_╥):
