dancestors

I think my biggest gripe with homestuck is the lack of characterization for the dancestors aside from a few (primarily meenah and aranea) 

like i get it was probably a lot for hussie to write distinct personalities for each and every one of them and properly flesh them out without taking up too much of the time dedicated to the alpha humans

but i feel like we could've been given more especially when all of them have such terrible personalities (meenah, cronus, kankri im sorry i can't stand him)  

i personally think it would be interesting to see what life on beforus was like before their session and what circumstances led to them becoming total douchebags 

And the thing is the few crumbs we get from openbound are actually pretty interesting like damara, rufioh, and horrus's love triangle (?), kurloz and meulin's relationship before she became deaf, or even damara's relationship with meenah

a lot of what we learn is just from aranea which is fine but i'd rather be shown, not told

but then again i rlly do like the alpha humans so im not too upset abt it

i just wish the dancestors were more relevant to the story like the beta trolls were

and most of their designs are actually rlly good (mituna, kurloz, latula, meenah) 

also why r most of them just straight up weirdos ESPECIALLY CRONUS AND MEENAH like was it that hard to come up with something else that would still make them equally bad?

(idk if homestuck counts as literature but wtv)
