I really wish there were better ways of regulating what kids have access to! I grew up on the internet and while I made smart choices I had friends who def did not, and it sucked seeing them get hurt. I don't think kids should have the internet taken away from them but there def needs to be more control over it. I find it crazy that parents are just letting their kids do whatever. I also never understood the idea of lying about my age unless it was like...to get access to YouTube or something, lol.

But also... why do adults have to be the ones not allowed to make an account? Most states now require age verification, including my state (which is paused right now). Once the law is unpaused, eventually this site will also have to comply with that.

By that, I mean that states are increasingly passing legislation like Virginia's SB 854 that forces social media and interactive platforms to implement strict, commercially reasonable methods to verify a user's exact age. Right now, many of these laws are temporarily paused or tied up in federal court injunctions over constitutional challenges. However, once these legal bottlenecks are resolved and the mandates are unpaused, platforms like this won't have a choice. They will be legally obligated to integrate third-party age-gating or identity verification systems to screen out minors or limit their access. Banning adults entirely is a backward approach; the legal reality is that the platform itself will eventually be forced to fix the problem by verifying exactly who is on here.

I find it pretty easy to spot people lying about their age from the way they talk.
