Getting dentures at 22 is an interesting experience. I like them. It's better than what i was dealing with before. Long story short, chronic illness. I was sick for all my teen years. Does anyone else here have partials or dental prosthetics?
if you were curious, all my top teeth are gone and all my molars too- so i have dentures in those areas. And yes, dont let anyone tell you childbirth is the worst pain because they havent had an upper molar abscess. It makes a pair of pliers look like your new best friend.
I feel alone sometimes, its a bad feeling walking into a place to get treatment and all the advertisements on the walls are of elderly people in walkers. Not saying that im too good for that. It just makes you feel alien for having a unique situation. Im glad i went with a different dentist who is alot more discreet in their marketing.
Everyone i ask about their dentures has an interesting story, and usually alot of pain before you get to that point, the point where the idea of all your teeth getting plucked out is actually a relief.
American healthcare is also really bad, my surgery cost about $8k out of pocket, there is no mercy. We went through all the options and the only way to get the treatment i needed was to literally pay for it.
I am in alot better place now and I thank myself for making that decision. Just reflecting on some things. mostly feeling glad it is over.
