Nolan Wells was just laid to rest and another teen was found dead. Another Black man killed by the police. My heart has been so heavy these past few weeks as the investigation is ongoing for Nolan Wells, and while I make sure to stagger how often I consume media related to it for my own mental health, this goes beyond that. This is a generational grief and trauma passed down. I have nothing poetic to share or some wisdom other than I just want there to be a time where I know that our Black teens and children will be allowed to be young and allowed to grow up. Any other Black person out there also feeling heavy with what’s been going on, you’re not alone and I got you. 

Also I don’t want anybody that isn’t Black to reply to this. I don’t need anything from white folk, not on this topic. This is one of those times where you need to sit down and shut up.
