Another watch in the rewind lounge group!
This was something 😀
Scary. Like kind of a quiet scary throughout. No big jumpscares or anything, just creepy vibes and visuals. There were a couple jumpscares though jsyk. The color grading on this was so amazing, and so was the acting. The main character carries herself in such a strange manner, but it makes her compelling, I felt like I wanted to know more about her throughout the movie. Also, Nicholas Cage? I didn't even realize that was him, he did a great job.
It was all very creepy. I do like creepy for the record, but I did spend most of my time staring at the screen like so:
I really liked the whole vintage vibe. Idk I thought that was cool and spooky. God this gave me the creeps, I felt BAD after watching this. And oh my god the cinematography holyyyy shit. Uh I found myself with tears running down my face, not really crying just, like, generally upset.
So yeah.
Uh 7/10 what the hell.

ETA: After stewing on the movie for a couple days, I am dropping my rating to a 6/10. For all of it's great qualities, the plot kind of seemed rushed and a little predictable near the end. The quality of the film was great, but the plot was kind of lacking. So, 6/10 is my final verdict.

the cinematography was great, i really liked that the movie was always in low-key lightning, it felt uncomfortably close.

yeah, i agree the look of the film was great. i was enjoying it at the start but the plot kinda lost me at the end to be honest. i'd probably give it a 4/10, maybe a bit harsh? 😅

After thinking about it for a couple days, the plot did kinda leave some stuff to be desired. It felt rushed near the end.
