Feminism is so mistaken for literal sexisim

Don't get me wrong. Feminism is great, is supports the idea of supporting women during hard times, or great times. But saying stuff like "Im a feminist so I hate men!" Is NOT it. The whole point is to support a gender from another bringing them down. So it should be gender QUALITY. Because it's okay if a woman said she hates men. But if a man said he hates women people would go bonkers. People need to realize that it's gender QUALITY that is the solution. Not supporting just one. We as humans be genuinely acting like kindergarteners sometimes. Stop bringing one down and let's bring both UP. Okay enough yapping hehe :D

people confuse misandrist and feminist a lot, despite one standing for gender equality and the other carrying a prejudice for men (which is no better than prejudice against women)

EXACTLY. It genuinely seems immature that some people act like this and then call themselves a supporter of this concept. It isn't about bringing people down, but about uplifting people In a society where it's hard to put your place in without being looked down appon.

Definitionally the ideology of feminism is the belief and movement that all people should have equal rights, equal opportunities, and fair treatment regardless of their gender. It is a civil rights/revolutionary movement that aims at ending gender biases and Dismantling Patriarchy.

The Tenet for liberating women and other marginalized genders firmly goes against the status quo (patriarchy, capitalism, racism, and class exploitation), society is almost entirely male dominated, anything that can harm that order also threatens the system. Pulling women up feels like pushing men down.

The idea that feminists "hate all men" or hate men in general is a great example. First off in context to what I'm going to point out it's unneeded but I would like to just say that atleast a majority of people who say that dont actually mean all men or its because of some genuine real trauma inflicted by men. That type of rhetoric is a very small minority.

To me its interesting that people see a single woman or feminist say that they hate men and then generalize it onto the entire group, however, whenever a sizeable chunk of the male population hold misogynistic views or are fully misogynistic, a lot of people go out of their way to say that its just that one individual who is misogynistic and not the entire group. This is one of the many gender biases that we live under. This is one of the many gender biases that feminism seeks to abolish.

Exactly. I think that people genuinely use the term feminism wrong for just bluntly hating on something. And yes I do agree with thr part that feminists don't mean ALL men ofc. But the fact that they said it is rlly problematic imo. But this comment is top tier 100 agreed
