Anyone have any tips for sophomore year of high school? advice is very much appreciated since I'm super-duper anxious for this year since 9th grade was a pretty crummy time for me. I'm also probably switching schools since I'm moving pretty soon so I'm pretty much starting over from scratch. Which tbh isn't that big a deal i didn't have any friends at my current school regardless so it's not like I'm losing anything in that regard. I'd really like some general tips and tricks to survive the year ^^

sophomore year gets a lil hard academically (,; ⩌ ;,) so please please LOCK IN!!!! STUDY!!!! DON'T FALL BEHIND!!!!!! YOUR FUTURE SELF WILL THANK YOU!!! TAKE NOTES AND STUDY AND REVIEW!!!! i say, looking back at my evil past self. the stuff you do now academically will determine the options available to you in the future.
besides that, be friendly and talk to the people sitting near you, or at least smile! an easy way to make friends is complain about class/compliment their cool things ( ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ഒ if you can, join clubs that seem interesting to you to find others w shared interests :3 but keep in mind that the people you surround yourself with reflect who you are and have an impact on u, so pick nice and cool people!! good luck!!! - a college student who Knows

i went to two new schools in tenth grade, it does get easier after the first few weeks. i hope you’re able to make some friends and enjoy your time, i wont lie though, the friends part is definitely hard once highschool comes. most teens already have a group or have known each other since elementary or middle school. i recommend trying to get to know the other people who don’t have many people around them. they are more likely to stick around. tenth is one of the harder years, but it made 11th feel much easier. once you get familiar, the rest of it shouldn’t be so bad. if you’re able to choose classes, don’t overdo it, honestly electives like art can offer a lot and be pretty easy to pass. my easiest and one of my favorite classes was culinary, so id recommend if thats an option. if your school requires it, start volunteering now, as well as looking into scholarships if you plan on going to college -at least look to keep it as an option. colleges and scholarships usually require some amount of volunteer hours. and all scholarships don’t require 1million hours and 1million word essays, so its good to check em out -some are just given for income level or first come first serve. some are for completely random bs which is also good. i never went to any school dances, but it could honestly be fun or at least fun to look back on, but don’t feel like youre missing much if you don’t. id also go on any field trips they might offer, i went on a couple in 11th with no friends and had a great time just listening to music on the bus. lol. i also was offered to hit a vape in the bathroom once, definitely say no if someone does that, teenagers have cooties, and being cool isn’t something that happens by vaping in dookie air. this is a lot of rambling, but i hope your school experience is better than mine, and trust me, it gets better than whatever 10th grade is.

yes i do!!!! Please please please study. I know it sucks, but shit unfortunately gets real this school year:( and you need to focus!!! Try to study at least 2 days a week for like half an hour and youll do fine. TAKE NOTES REGULARLY!!! And when it comes to social life in school its really okay if you start off with no friends because sophomore year is the most difficult to fit in since EVERYONE is new in class and everyone is just trying to understand how this works! But it´s okay because you will eventually find your people<3 Don´t pay any mind to negative bitches who try to make school more difficult than it already is, trust me, avoid all the drama. Because like i said, this year shit gets DOWN and you need to focus on studying and not stupid unnecessary drama. Also cause in a few years you´ll laugh about it all, so really no drama is that serious. With this, i hope you have a great sophomore year experience and wish u the best of luck!! xoxo

Sophomore year is when it got super hard for me...
I almost failed 2 classes that year.
My tip is to stay motivated and not slack off. Ask your teachers for extensions if needed.
And make sure to make studying fun!
