The title speaks for itself. I’m constantly reminded everytime the THOUGHT of him pops into my head how he cheated on me. Before you call me a loser or a bird I know. It’s my fault for taking him back. But whenever I leave him I always miss him and when I go back I’m miserable. I want to leave. I will leave. I just need to know how to finally let go. I’m genuinely asking from the bottom of my heart please give me tips on how to stay gone.
Additional context: I’m very mentally ill and I’m working towards getting the help I need. I have autism, depression and my doctors are looking into a bipolar diagnosis.

well I'd say you have a good start given you're going to get the help you need and are aware of the toxicity of the situation you're in. That's an essential step and you're clearing it well!! I know it's easy to ruminate on the poor decisions or moments of the past, but the important thing is to look forward and work towards a life that would't have been possible with him around.
In terms of letting go I'll be honest, it'll most likely be the hardest part. I'd suggest pouring your time and energy into things you know you enjoy like movies, shows, and your hobbies. Start creating short and long terms goals so you don't feel as if you're moving aimlessly. Start projects, try new things or do something you've always pushed back on. Also it is reaally important to have a present and supportive group of people. Whether it be friends or family it's essential you don't go through this alone. Because you do not deserve it. Any of this really.
I'm sorry if this sounds sorta like easier said than done but the final results will make it all worth. I'm very proud of you for being aware that you have to leave him, so keep your head up. We're rooting for you xxx

Im so sorry you're going through this it sounds exhausting. I wouldn't say its your fault, you're not the one who cheated and its just because you don't want to miss him, no one wants to miss someone. I think you just need to really be honest with yourself and think about where the relationship would go. it doesn't sound like a good base for a long term future relationship, so the longer you stay with him the worse it'll be in the end. I hope I'm not sounding harsh ^. Leave him, and when you do, find things to occupy your time, literally anything- diy, movies, books, just try not to think about him. You also said you're working towards getting the help you need (proud of you !!) let the leaving him be the first step <3
i don't know you but it takes a lot to even be aware of the fact you need to leave him, so definitely proud of you stranger
