after clicking through some profiles i've come to the Professional and Completely Factual conclusion that a dni list or equivalent is used.. as a means of virtue signalling more often than not
what exactly does it mean to say 'please don't try to make friends with me if you're literally hitler'? would it accomplish its goal in making him think twice before saying something and is there an actual reason for it to be said in the first place (outside of what i think it is said for)... or are you just trying to say that you don't like the bad people but do like the good people?
this is low hanging fruit, dare i say rotten. it's almost like having a blinkie on your profile that said 'fuck ai' or saying that 'capitalism sucks' because people say it to come off as knowledgeable/virtuous for free. you don't have to know anything; tell them the bad thing is bad and that makes you good? apparently? Can We Stop Doing This Please
-ignore me strawmanning every dni list to be a 'dni if you're a nazi'. it's all i have seen around here.. while it's comparable to chasing ghosts at most. who has it on their profile that they're a proud trump supporter anyways? i should keep it there so i can tell when people actually read through the text i put in my bio

ehh the blinkies i get because those kinds of opinions are becoming more popular but are still controversial (tons of people love AI unfortunately, capitalism even more so) and it’s useful for other people to see so they can think ok, this person aligns with my views, maybe we would get along well. but i’ve always hated the “dni racists homophobes etc” too because like. those people are not going to see your scene kid profile and want to interact with you in good faith in the first place lol. it’s a useless request

even if those people cared about your dni, i dont think they would consider themselves to be a pedo/racist/homophobe........

In my experience, a lot of people that read those DNIs will either block you OR will try and ragebait you which gives the opportunity to block them, I absolutely get ur point tho!
