I've been getting r4p3d and SA'd by my brother since I can remember. I'll get into detail in another post, but not in this one. Growing up everyone ignored the signs and they didn't do anything. My mother even walked in once and she just separated us for 10 minutes, but I was still forced to share a bed with him. Anyways, back to what this post is about. I barley have empathy for humans, specifically men. It's really hard for me to feel bad for people. Whenever my friends are venting to me I don't feel anything and I feel awkward with those emotions (it's important to note 99% of my friends are males). I still try to comfort them because it would be wrong for me not to, right? Whenever I see a post on something bad happening to someone I don't feel anything, but if it was a character from a show I'd definitely feel something. I cry more over characters than I do for actual people. I think the reason I feel like this and my lack of empathy is from the adults in my life ignoring me and the abuse I went through. It's not like I don't have empathy at all, but I feel like I have very little of it.
I'm not trying to be a horrible person but I really can't control how I feel.

If you can't over power him with things like handcuffs or tactical tazers like an upstanding officer of the law and upholder of the constitution would. Try doing some swiper no swiping stuff. 🧠

Just become so unnattractive and such a turn off that he simply won't do things like that to you anymore. As a last resort make sure you could take a crap before going to bed but not need to.

On the real though, it's actually high key messed up that you guys share the same bed. I'm 99% sure that breaks some child services rules, pretty much for cases like this. That being said, just be careful who you call if you do. The government acts like your friend, but they almost never are. I have seen foster care situations be worse than the family they got taken from sometimes. So it can be a gamble. It's a sad truth, but I'm letting you know because there ARE people out there who care like me. So don't write off humanity entirely. Even in Sodom and Gomorrah there was still Lot and his wife! ;)
Also just because there is a bed, doesn't mean YOU have to sleep in it with him. There are couches, a floor with blankets/pillows as your mattress, etc.
Another thing in life that I tell people in your situation is what I call the 3 foot rule. If someone is more than 3 feet away from you, they can't really do physical harm to do. If you can just manage your proximics, you'll be fine.
Also if your parents aren't doing anything about this for some weird reason, punish them for it. If your bro makes a move on you. Then you HAVE to sleep in your parents room next to them in their bed, or at least on their floor. Give them no privacy or space just like they give you no privacy or space.
In life everyone is dealt a hand. Some are dealt pocket Ace's and some people are dealt a deuce and an off suit nine. But even those with the deuce nine can still win both the hand and even the game if they choose to REACT creatively and intelligently. :3

everyone absorbs trauma differently. there's no shame in it at all. I hope you're in a safer place and if not, I hope you are soon. don't be scared to advocate for yourself and please stay safe
