I think that I speak for most of us when I say that we took physical items for granted because we all wanted to grow up too fast we all wanted to live in tomorrow and we saw digital media as a sign that the future is coming and we have to leave the "old stuff" behind however I noticed that when i read my comics or open the box to assassins creed 2 theres more connection to the physical thing rather than the digital one mabey its because I can actually touch the item and I feel more for it and it also can double as decoration idk but what do yall think like what is the real reason we like physical stuff more than digital because I know that it goes beyond us just actually owning the item for our selves

it's better for preservation in general, the digital world is very fragile, more then the comic issues i own that existed since the 60s

The transition to digital seems like a selfish company move imo. With physical media, you can sell it for less when you don't want it anymore. You can pass it down to the next generation of your family if it doesn't corrode. And even if it does get unusable it's still yours. You have it and no company can knock at your door, asking you to return your metroid prime because your Xbox gamepass subscription expired.
You can use it as a decoration. Hug it when you're sad or bring it with you if it gives you comfort. Borrow it to half your friend circle and they all save money which companies obviously don't want. Bring to some presentation to show off an example.
When you lose one disc you lost the disc but you can find it back or buy it secondhand. You lose your account and EVERYTHING is gone. If your item gets broken, you can still keep it.
