It's Solar Eclipse Time .𖥔 ݁ ˖☾𖤓☽.𖥔 ݁ ˖

For the first time in 27 years, a partial solar eclipse was visible in Ireland. It began at around 6:09pm in the north and ended after 8pm. This was taken during the mid eclipse at 7:09pm. It was so cool seeing it through our door but I was scared that I would get eye damage (〒__〒) so I just turned my back and took the shot like a mouse. Thankfully my phone camera didn't break unlike the mountains of reports echoing that it would whenever I looked online (I probably just got lucky this time, may this luck keep finding me).

With the next total solar eclipse globally being in 2090, a whole 64 years, I guess you could say that I'm happy to be alive now to see such a rare sight. I'm looking forward to the next partial lunar eclipse visible here in a fortnight but clouds do exist, of course. Even if it's at 5am, I'll be up for sure even if it's overcast beyond belief!

The eclipse had 94% obscuration from where I was with its max at around 7:10pm local time. Today's moon phase here was a new moon which probably shows in the madness observed while queuing for ISO standard (ISO 12312-2:2015 or just ISO 12312 for the nerds like me) glasses. If there's one thing about the Irish people, we definitely love a good queue!

'Till next time,
Siren

P.S. Here's a picture for you guys!
