tw: anxiety, skin scratching :/

third day ongoing anxiety

maybe this is sign? this is the third day in a row of non stop anxiety. as stupid as it sounds i’ve been scratching nonstop my body because of this, i’ve tried to stop but unconsciously i end up scratching again. i’ve begun to scratch my face under my eyes, it has never gotten to a point where i touched my face before ig… needless to say i had to wear long sleeves for work and say i was sunburnt for the redness under my eyes although i know it doesn’t look like it.

i don’t know how to stop it

i also struggle with skin scratching :'D i once started putting tape around my fingers so that it would be impossible for my nails to scratch anything but it was too much work to do every time so i'm back at square one basically

i hope we can both find a way to stop soon aaaa

I thought about cutting my nails but I believe i'll have the same outcome :(

next step maybe I'll buy knitted gloves to see if it helps somehow although I might look insane xd

You are probably not searching for advice but if I can give one: If you cant afford therapy or if you are not medicated; try buying a stress ball! or something to have on your hand! it can even be a small plushie! something that stimulates that need of doing something with your hands. Can be squishy, a bean bag, a plushie, they all have different textures so I recommend to try until you like one.

I used a small plushie I had in my room, one that fitted my hand and since its a plushie I could even grab it thight with nails and everything and fidget with it comfortably, without having the fear of it exploding or hurting my own hand! I even took it to class and exams, since its tiny most of the time I dont even have to take it out of the pocket!

I hope it helps!

dw any advice would be nice!

currently I am going to therapy and I am medicated although I try to limit the medication during work days since it makes me kind of droopy :(

I have tons of plushies for this reason as which I recently bought a bigger one since it has a belly I like rubbing but somehow I come back to the scratching, for a stress ball I haven't tried it I will have to give it a go :,)
