College and university

What major would you go into?

For me I have no clue. Like I want to go into architecture or somewhere that pays like really well. But, at the same time fashion is very much my passion but I don’t know anywhere that would pay well. Especially since I want to live in the city. I currently live in the suburbs and I hate how slow it is here. Not to mention the university’s around me don’t branch out to more I guess “niche” majors despite being major universities. Like I don’t know what to do. I’m also having slight regrets since I already put in the courses I’m taking for gr 11 a few months ago but idk if I should’ve chosen those courses.

Kudos: 3

I do encourage talking to people in your desired field, but take what they say with a grain of salt because not everyone is the same and what works for you might not work for them! Continue being curious about the future, but don’t be afraid of it. If you don’t pick a major by 17/18, nothing really happens and you are allowed to take time and explore the world and your options and decide on something that makes sense for you right now. I think I’ll go into community services to get a public service job in welfare or aged/disability care perhaps. If anyone has any career advice for me that would be much appreciated as well 😂

Not that I want to go to college but I’d probably major in music or something like business/industry studies/etc. I’d like to be a musician or at least a bands tour manager which don’t strictly require degrees.

This might be slightly privileged of me to say but I think that if you have a passion for something you shouldn’t let it go. Since you want to live in the city there might be opportunities but you never truly know until you get there. Connections are always one of the most important things though so maybe if you felt uneasy about everything you could start an account (here, on insta, etc) to show off you’re creations and meet other people who have the same interests in fashion as you!!

Something my grandma told me once was “You should do what you love because eventually money will come.” and I think it’s something everyone should hear once.

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you sooo so so much success and luck<33
