Ok so 2day I was chilling with my friends at lunch and one of my friends asked what time it was, and my sister said “your mom” and we started laughing cuz it’s a harmless joke. But then one of the aides (who I’ll call Miss Brenda cuz that’s the first name that I thought of) that had to watch over us started getting REALLY pissed at my sis, saying “Oh that’s not funny” and other stuff a total square would say. And after her stupid tirade and she went away to shout at some other kids I started saying how it was unfair that she gets angry at a harmless your mom joke but some of my classmates call people slurs and THEY DONT GET IN TROUBLE. But I think she heard me because she might’ve been close but i was too angry to care.
Then we get back to class and out homeroom teacher has a small speech about how the dudes need to keep their hands off one another and the girls need to put “a smile on our face” and “not give the aides (Miss Brenda) attitude” (but I think everyone was giving Miss Brenda attitude tbh). Then everybody started complaining about her, one kid mentioned how she times our lunch and after it’s over we have to go to the playground and they didn’t even finish eating before they were kicked out, and the other aides don’t even DO that. Then our teacher says that 15 kids got tallies today (a tally is some sort of thing to encourage kids not to screw up, so u get one tally if you do something the authorities at school don’t like, and if you get 5 in a week you get a detention. Theres more details but that’s the basic rundown) and now I’m scared that me and my sister got a tally for that. So uhh I’ll wait till Friday and see whats gonna happen

Oh mb. So at lunch, my sister made a harmless your mom joke, but one of the aides got really angry at her. I thought it was unfair because other students say actual slurs and don’t get in trouble. I complained about the aide afterward, and when we got back to class, the teacher said some stuff about not giving the aides attitude, then everyone started complaining about her too. Then our teacher said 15 students got tallies today, so now I’m a little worried that my sister and I might have gotten one and we’re in trouble
And a tally is some sort of disciplinary system where if we do something the teachers or aides don’t like, we get 1 tally (or more depending on how bad it is) and if u get 5 u get a detention
