Hey folks,
I've been gone for a good while trying to organise moving to Ireland. I've finally landed as of last Saturday but things haven't quite gone how I'd have liked. I'm having to grind through job searching which is fine because it's nowhere near as hard as Scotland but it's just slightly stressful. I've put in eight applications for jobs throughout the week, I'm chasing up housing and any sort of funding things that we may be able to get, and we're waiting on my boyfriend's wallet coming in the post because he accidentally left it in our old place.
Thankfully, we're crashing with his family; they're great to be around and super helpful. We're definitely missing our own space right now, though. I'm certainly not the best at living in a larger household. I've never quite felt comfortable doing that. I know it won't be forever, it's just a bit hard going. It's just a case of having to be knocked down a bit to let ourselves get settled here and start actually doing well. Moving country is expensive, things going slowly is expected.
My way through feeling a little hopeless is simply to enjoy a little bit of escapist fantasising about how our lives will look in a year or so. We'll be in a decent house, making alright money, spending time with our friends, and I'll be able to get back to creating things. I'm grateful that we have a solid support network here and that we have a fighting chance to really build towards stability.Â
I'm going to spend my day resting after things have been so hectic. I hope you're all doing well and taking care of yourselves!
Kisses,
Luke
