So ive heard a lot of people who say their peers started being less accepting of their neurodivergencies as they got older as if they were expected to grow out of it, but for me the exact opposite happened! Especially with my family.Â
I've always been unsocial, but when i was younger people would force me to speak, barge into my room without asking, question why i wouldn't want to interact with others... nowadays they respect my privacy. I've always struggled with eating, but back then they used to force me to eat stuff i didnt like and not care if i gagged or puked afterwards, and nowadays they always make sure that i can eat what im being offered. They no longer see any meltdowns or shutdowns i have as tantrums and try to accomodate for me.
It's like they started believing im more of a person the more i grew up and or realized that "shit, youre not being dramatic, you for real have issues that we have to deal with"
Anyone experienced that too? Or am i the odd one out w this?
