Hi. I'm Nathalie, Nat Nat for short. I'm 17 and I've never learned how to blog. Yeah I grew up in the 2010s with siblings who had everything set back ten years, and yeah I became cognitive in 2014 when my sister handed me the controller to the PS3 in hopes of getting me to play Minecraft with her, but Blogs? I had only ever heard of them from Twilight or Pretty Little Liars! So of course when the clock struck 00:00, I got the feminine teenage urge to start a blog like Blair or Maya.
Looking at this through the lenses of nostalgia, I wanted- No, I NEEDED to blog. I sat straight up after doom scrolling in bed for what felt like ages, and opened a dingy laptop only to later learn that said blogging sites used back then aren't here anymore, and that my tumblr is occupied with... unfavorable material. see, I grew up with a very "Tuscan" mother. fake grapes on the countertop, warm earth tone around the house with a wall that was painted orangeβ The whole shabang. So clearly i went into this with an idea... that was later destroyed the lost of time.Β
I gathered my wits and scouted the internet for at least a good blogging site (I looked on tiktok) When I came upon this site. I logged in, and was immediately taken by the 2010s GirlsGoGame look it gave to me. I decorated my page, and clicked create a blog when I stopped and heard a voice in my head go "Wait, what the hell even is blogging?"
And I have to say, that voice was right. What even is blogging? is it a way of venting frustration out online? or is it a form of words crafted onto a screen in hopes someone will use or resonate with them? I mean, I'd hope someone would resonate with the words I tapping out. especially someone whos also a teenager. Sigh... I hope my later blogs take a uniformed shape of blogging. TTYL
