i recently went rock climbing with my family and while my sister reached the top of the wall thingeys pretty quickly (super proud of her!), i ended up freezing up abt 7-8 feet up. i literally could not move and started shaking pretty violently and nearly passed out, but thankfully the instructor brought me down safely. now, i would say this as it is: im not scared of heights specifically, but i think im scared of the loss of control i have over my body. or most likely, the fear of falling. i ended up having ice cream and my family made sure i was fine, but it just felt somewhat embarrassing bc people saw it and i just wanted to hide LOL, but tbf i have been diagnosed with horrible anxiety so it makes sense that i froze up. guess i'll always be learning new things abt myself :p

ooof im sorry :(( although maybe it could be the fact you grew more aware of your anxiety post-COVID? i wasn't a very avid climber myself even pre-COVID but i feel like i grew more anxious after it, so that could be the case for you?

I recon it is an anxiety thing. unfortunately I've rlly struggled with socialization after COVID especially since I live somwhere really lonely, and picked up a bit of a depressive state - which has spiraled into social anxiety, and then anxiety, and probably then OCD. plus a lot of rlly difficult things happened since 2020 and I'm just a different person to what I was back then. so yeah it's definitely anxiety.
