The reason why people hate Jax is not because he's morally bad it's because he's BADLY WRITTEN!!! You can see how they tried to give him a redemption arc but eventually gave up and at a last resort made him a sadistic backstory in which he was still morally wrong and sexually harasses Gangle.
Take Ame from NSO for example, lore accurately shes a ton worse then Meowbah and does many illegal and harmful things such as substance abuse, slash flashing, and creating a whole religion on stream but people like her BECAUSE she is amazing rep for genuinely mentally ill people.

Mhm, goose completely associating Jax with herself will significantly weaken the writing because you cannot write yourself as you would for a fictional character due to first person compared to third. Putting all of her inner thoughts onto Jax is inaccurate, you wouldn't ideally do or say those things out loud and what you say or do defines someone perception of you.

To be fair as a writer, TADC really isn't that good of a show, Its really hard to find animated media that is well written anyway, In a serious context, I feel a lot of TADC is a person writing a show for adults and it ending up being written for kids, I know that sounds weird but commonly kids want to watch what they think their not supposed to and thus its kids media whither goose wanted it to be or not, I think its big with teenagers, I think the issue with Jax is that goose could not seprate herself from him, He is a self insert of her pretransition self and I just think that really hindered the character, A writer commonly can't seprate themselfs from the character once they do this, Be it a part of themselfs they like or dislike, I feel Jax really flopped because Goose just couldn't seprate herself from him, I think thats why he's poorly written, But to be fair as a writer its hard for many writers to seprate themselfs from the character and do whatever they want with them whither they dislike or like it happening or not, I feel goose really just wanted some self healing for how awful her past self was, and It hindered Jaxes writing *A lot*. I don't think its bad to do this in your own personal work, But I feel for something like the TADC it really just left us feeling like he was poorly written because he wasn't allowed to show and shine.
