June 2026 🌞

Throughout this month, I'll be adding stuff to this blog post :)

6/9 - Beans has a new video out y'all get excited :)

6/13 - I bought a Polaroid camera!! A Fujifilm Instax Mini 12, to be exact. Got it used off Ebay. I've always loved the aesthetic of those printed photos. Very excited! I'll take it with me on my cruise to Iceland next month with me mum 😁

6/14 - I had a date a few days ago that went really well! We got coffees and went to a park with a lake, walked around the lake and then picnicked with my guitar and her voice (she's an amazing singer).

But it turns out she was under the impression that it was just a platonic date. I'm sad :( I'd love to be her friend though, of course! Hoping that one day my being-single streak will end 🤞 (it's been 14 years at this point beat my high score I dare you)

6/15 - Disturbing stuff happening here in NC politics :( voter suppression stuff is being rushed through the state legislature as quickly as possible. I'd love to go to this event, but Tuesdays are my ketamine day 🤔 I may go afterward and be there while slightly tripping balls. Oh, but it's in Raleigh and the ketamine clinic is in Chapel Hill 😵.

I want to tell the people in my life about it, but I don't want to be annoying. But at the same time, this is important. But at the same time, tis the season for a lot of stuff to be important. I just wish more people in the US were politically active 😢.

And I'm definitely not the most politically active person! I have been calling my reps every day using phone scripts, which I feel happy about - it just takes like 10 minutes a day. And once the weather is no longer hot as hell balls, I'll be going out to hold signs and chat with nice people on street corners again. I love doing stuff much better than just reading depressing email newsletters and feeling powerless 💪.

6/18 - Beans says hi

6/24 - Here's a beautiful excerpt from a Taoist newsletter I subscribe to:

"The Stoic looks at life and sees the danger of being ruled by what lies outside our power. The Taoist looks at life and sees the suffering created when we resist the movement of things.

One is concerned with inner command.

The other is concerned with inner friction.

Yet both are responding to the same human problem.

We suffer not only because life is difficult, but because we add something to its difficulty.

We add our demand that things be otherwise.

We add our argument with what has already arrived.

We add the fantasy that peace will begin only when the world finally matches the shape of our will.

Stoicism interrupts that fantasy by asking us to return to what is ours.

Taoism interrupts it by asking us to stop tightening around what is not.

These are not the same movement, but they can meet inside a life.

The Stoic says: do not give your soul away to what you cannot control.

The Taoist says: do not spend your soul fighting the current of things.

Both, in their own language, are trying to return us to freedom."

6/25 - I asked out a pharmacist yesterday! Past me would have been amazed. She said no, but I'm proud of myself and am viewing it as exposure therapy and facing my fears :)

Movie night with Benny - we watched Fried Green Tomatoes, which was lovely. Didn't expect cannibalism portrayed as a good thing 👀

6/26 - And yesterday I left my number for a cute nurse at my dermatologist's office 😄 no dice there either, but it was a victory anyway.

Also, I just came out with a new cover woooooooooooo

Best wishes to you all 🤗

Kudos: 2
