AI, the future of art?

Creativity is one of the things that make humanity such a unique thing. Art has been a concept since humans have been around, whether it be through story telling, paintings, song, or theatre. These things come from the soul, so is it really possible for AI to replicate it?

AI has been taking entry level jobs away from young artists in the corporate world, as anyone could now generate what they need. Jobs like free-lance illustrations, concept artists, audio and visual technicians, ect, are being actively taken over by artificial intelligence.

"If we don't stick up to what AI is doing to our environment it won't be ethical in the near future, which could be 5-10 years from now and we need to get it under control." 16 year old Nina GT, an aspiring animator.

The idea of AI taking jobs from young students has caused considerable doubt for future pathways in an already stressful position. Young artists may be lead to be discouraged in their imagination, as the belief that their dream job may not be available once they grow up. Beauty may be destroyed from the very concept of AI, as it rots the imagination and desire to create without generation. Creation comes from the mind of those willing to look deeper, and now with the rise in simple generation, who is willing to anymore? Younger generations have become dependant on ChatGPT to complete tasks in schooling, the workplace, and in their daily lives.

In a 2025 survey conducted by Gallup, it was been reported that 47% of Gen Z use AI weekly for, and a concerning 38% were reported to be completely reliant on AI for simple, daily tasks.

"Gen Z are the world leaders of tomorrow and some of today's leading technology users," comments Naria Santa Lucia from Microsoft Philanthropies. "With more exposure to AI at the start of their career than any other generation, they're also the most exposed to the impacts of AI. Educators and employers must prioritise skilling this generation in AI literacy."

The leaders of our society have begun to encourage the idea of ingraining AI into our every day life, but why? Humans as a society have never had any problem thinking for themselves, creating things that reflect our values and we had no need to rely on technology to think for us. How can we as a society believe that reliance on AI is the future? At what point do we realise that creativity, individuality, and free thinking are things that AI cannot replace, and at what point will we put an end to this takeover of humanity?

i completely agree with you. And it's really weird how much theyre pushing AI onto us because I'm pretty sure no other technologies in the recent past have been forced(for a lack of a better word) this much.

I don't know what to say, as I myself used to be reliant on ai when Chat GPT first came out, back then most had been unaware of AIs harm and impact on society and I love seeing people raise awareness on this situation. Could you believe that what used to "obviously" be ai has changed to the point of ai not being noticeable on social media.

Social media has been really pushing the use of Ai under the name of "trends", for example generating pics with your fav celeb. Not only that but apps like Pinterest have been pushing ai content all over the feed, not to mention the large amounts of Ai storys on TikTok, Fruit love island? absolute slop, and I am afraid well reach the pointy of no return.

I really hope this isn't the end of Human creativity...
