What a surprise, a gardening blog entry. I figured I'd post this before I fly out to Alberta for a week for work.
So far, so good this year. Although always remaining vigilant for pests (fuck European earwigs, cabbage white butterflies, and goddamn pillbugs). Not pictured is the cilantro, horseradish, loofa squash, and the specific wildflower plots. Or the other fruit trees (pear, cherry, plum, hazelnut).
May your gardens be bountiful.
Yes, that is a flektarn wizard hat. If anyone can name the shirt -- well done to you.
Pumpkin zone.
Carrots, onions, potatoes. A third bed is tucked back there, but had asparagus in it. It's now just wildflowers.
The main beds: cabbage, kale, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, broccoli, beets, radish, arugula, lettuce, garlic, tomatoes, basil, corn, peas, beans, nasturtium, squash. The apple trees are also in this photo but blend in with the trees.
Rubus zone: raspberries, gooseberries. These are still quite young, in the coming years these bushes will become much more fruitful.
Chili zone. I think I have 5 different varieties here. Keeping them in pots since its worked out great in the past. Cucumbers are off in the back next to the shed area. Big orange thing is a mobile chicken coop.
Some of the birds.
My moth sheet and UV entomology light. Some leftover moths were still on there this morning, but it gets very busy and filled with moths at night. Yeah, moths are probably my greatest insect obsession.

Nice veles tshirt, i totally could've gotten my hands on one at a point in my life.
The latvian scourge this summer are the damned colorado beetles.
Colorado beetles, awful little shits. I haven't seen one in my gardens yet, hope it stays that way.
Wondered if it would be you who guessed the shirt correctly!
