Gonna use this blog just to list this dumbass manga spin-off. I really don't trust in any Baki's tranlations, so I'm not gonna read them for a long time or I magically learn japanese... Also they're like 11 spin-offs so this will be a long post.
1. Baki Gaiden:Gaia to Sikorsky
Apparently all the covers from this Gaiden are pretty homoerotic. It's about my boy Gaia and fucking Sikorsky living together for some reason. Should be an interesting read.
2. Antonio Igari Vs. Mount Toba
I really admire Itagaki's abitily to not forget characters. This happens after the events of the Maximum Tournament arc, a pro wrestling match between the only two wrestlers in that arc. Ugly ass cover😭🙏
3. Baki Tokubetsu-hen Saga
Baki and Kozue saving hex... I think this was adapted in the Netflix anime series. Maybe it was because I've never payed enough attention, but except for the Ali Jr. arc and other moments (maybe i'll have to rewatch), I always thought that the relationship between Baki and Kozue was never developed enough. I don't this manga will change my opinion about their relationship but I trust in Itagaki's writing, even if is it weird.
4. Scarface, Legend of The Invincible Fist
Itagaki really loves Hanayama, he don't even trains he shouldn't be that insanely strong. I also that think he really enjoys writing about the Yakuza and the Japan's criminal underworld. I'm especially interested in this one because I want to see more Itagaki's interpretation of the Yakuza and more of Hanayama as a criminal lord.
5. Baki Gaiden: Kizudzura
Kizudzura means Scarface too, but this it's about Hanayama when he was 15. Itagaki must really love Hanayama.
6. Hanma Baki 10.5: Pickle
I think this was also adapted in the anime. It introduces Pickle. I love you Pickel....
7. Baki Gaiden: Kenjin
Haven't found much information about this one, but judging by the cover is a younger Doppo. Maybe it's just more lore about him.
8. Doppo - To Drink, Eat and Walk Alone
Unironically way more interesting than the other Doppo's Gaiden. Another comedic Slice Of Life like the Gaia and Sikorsky's one, maybe it's because of the spanish dub (yeah I watch Baki in latin spanish...) but I always thought that Doppo is very funny. Through it's strange, it really fits him.
It also features the author himsfle!!!!!!!
9. Yuuenchi - Baki Gaiden (Novel/Manga)
First Gaiden to have original characters, the protagonist is Mumon! Older brother of my glorious, precious Katsumi. This story seems more focused on street fighting and the underworld. It also features characters from the novel Garouden, Itagaki didn't write that story but he ilustrated it. This is the I want read the most, it seems really epic.
Fun Fact: Before doing research for this blog, this panel made me think that the current Baki arc was about some lizard guy.
10. Baki Gaiden: Chiharu's Flower
The second Gaiden I most want to read, he practically hasn't done anything since the Maximum Tournament but his fights in that arc were sike!! I hope this story includes the same type of combat he had in the past because I really want to see this dude using his sheer willpower to defeat strong guys. Also motorcycle gangs are freaking cool, wanna see more of that.
11. Baki Gaiden: It Doesn't Even Matter if Kaiou Retsu is Reincarnated into Another World
Yes, Retsu in an Isekai.

In my case my absolute goat is Seki, he totally conquered me when he turned into Marvelous Seki. That was one the best introductions I've ever watched, he really made me think he had chance against Muteba... literally one of the most exciting fights of the tournament.

I'll always remember my brother getting weirded out at Setsuna's scenes and making jokes about the voice of some characters.
And yeah, Seki's built just like that. Unlike Baki, Kengan Ashura reelly respect the wrestlers!!

i actually just posted on a hear me out forum that setsuna is my hear me out. because even though he’s physically hot he definitely counts.
i actually noticed that. there was a lot more of respect in kengan ashura than in baki amongst the wrestlers with their competitive spirit and sportsmanship

Returning to Baki, you're absolutely right!! Igari's got some of the worst treatments I've ever watched, he even became one of the victims of Itagaki's weird pissing scenes. It's even worse after knowing that Igari is based on a real life wrestler.

like, i always thought kengan ashura was crazy when it came to the taboo and just plain weird stuff they’d include, but baki is on a whole other level. because at that point it just gets nasty. i’d rather be in a room alone with setsuna than itagaki.

NOOO THE PICTURE BUGGED....!! Saihate Station is one of those psychological horror games made in rpgmaker, it's about 2 dudes; Shion and Haru, they're coworkers and are trapped in liked a haunted train and as the game advances, you get to know more about them and what they did to get trapped there. It also has multiple endings!!

oh my god you’re right i completely misunderstood it’s okay. either way… itagaki’s fetishes were way out of control. at one point it makes it feel like baki is more like an ecchi than it is a shonen lol. it concerns me that i used to be a fan back when i was like 15 or 16… maybe that’s why i’m so weird today. and yeah, it was part of its charm, but why do it to characters based on real people 😭

and yeah saihate station cursed doomed yaoi!! it also has this fangame and a dlc that i still havent played, from what i know from the reviews on steam is a total improvement over everything the original offers(but i need play..)
