"Everything we said, we said in fun..." (09/14/2026)

...almost forgot to write a blog post today! I'm not quite sure how, I suppose it was due to having a hot date with doing almost nothing all day. It's just kind of astonishing how it seemed to slip my mind all day. I mean, it's something I look forward to. Writing, I mean. I've mentioned this probably countless times before, but the lack of free time (a disturbing trend) means I barely have enough time to just...put my thoughts down on paper (or text but you get the analogy right)

...speaking of my day, it was another day where mostly nothing happened. Did quite a bit of reading for my university class, and then topped that off with a bit of gaming, and now I'm probably gonna go to bed. I'll tell you, after a whirlwind of a few years I'm almost glad that 2026 so far has been a nothingburger for me. Of course, now that I've written that down I've probably irrevocably jinxed everything, but what's the worst that could happen? (famous last words)

...so, games. I finished Max Payne 3 today...again. That will probably be the subject of its own blog post, but to put it simply it did kind of feel disorienting playing it again. The gameplay feels way different than the previous two games and I keep expecting the graphics to be fucked up in a Kane & Lynch 2 kind of way but compared to that it feels real watered down. I dunno. I'll elaborate later...

...listening: "Suitcase: Failed Experiments and Trashed Aircraft" by Guided by Voices. It is a shame that Pollard goes unnoticed by the music community at large (or most of it, at least). At best, he's considered too eccentric and at worst he is mocked for his relentless output and constant left-turns. But that's probably why I like him! He does whatever the hell he wants and he couldn't possibly care if you give a shit or not. Four 100-song box sets? Why the hell not...
