Excitement

I just opened my hand lens for my intro to geo class and I am sosososos excited. I was never one for sciences, especially in hs because when I initially learned about geology I wasn’t in the best headspace (coming out of covid). So this is my first science class that’s within the realm of a topic I’m semi interested in, it’s really scary because I am horrible at anything that isn’t English and or art related. My professor was really nice and we are starting our lab next class (just looking at the most basic rocks we are likely to encounter the most). He used stuff like CO2, HC-3, C6H12, these are some of the things he wrote down (all random) that I remember he threw out there, and I know like the basic ones like H2O but I don’t know what a lot of the things on them mean. Since again I wasn’t really present when it was supposed to be my time to learn those things, but he was just talking about photosynthesis using like the scientific compounds I guess. Nonetheless I was able to understand it even if I didn’t know exactly what each thing was for.

I am excited for our lab because that involves all the grate basic easy stuff like hardness, color, texture, etc about the different rocks he’s showed us. Now I know and I imagine geo is not going to be all sunshine and rainbows, I will imagine it will get very difficult as we start to go deeper within everything. I am just hopeful and excited to learn about what I can and hope I’m able to keep afloat. I will admit I do feel like I don’t belong in the course because of my horrible lack of knowledge with anything scientific but what is the point of a class if not to learn.

Ty for listening to my Ted talk 🙂‍↕️
