Family meet up!

Hey Blog,

Nice to talk to you again, I’m just on the train back from seeing my mum’s side of the family. I was really glad to hang out with them all as the last time I had seen most of these people was over three years ago! The second I got off the train at the nearest station I could recognise that 3 of my relatives were getting off together, I caught up with them and was so glad to see them all. We walked to my grandparents house together catching up on our lives. In time my immediate family arrived after me and so did more and more distant cousins. Because my mum was an only child we treat our relatives with a thousand removals between us like we were actual cousins.

Some of my uncles had been/are currently involved in working with music and it was awesome to hear and tell stories of well they had been up to. It’s also so heartwarming to watch the younger cousins grow up, it really makes you realise how much can happen in 3 years! We had a delicious lunch that was followed by afternoon tea a few hours later. My grandma’s fruitcake was up for grabs and it’s genuinely my favourite cake ever, nothing can beat it!

Another great thing about visiting my grand Is getting to use their garden, we put up a volleyball net and even though the wind knocks it off course, we love playing for as long as we can! At one point an aunt knocked the ball way into the top of  a plum tree and it took my younger cousin “P” on his dad’s shoulders, a bamboo stick and me shaking the tree to get it down again XD 

I’m so happy to see everyone and that everyone there was doing so well!!
