Im trying to write a fanfic for the 1st time.. n omg i already had a lot of respect and admiration for fanfic writers but omg i think i respect fanfic writers n writers in gen a million times more bc omg idk if its jst me but writing is so hard 😭
i have the concept but i have no idea how to start the “scene” (its a lil oneshot/ drabble) n i honestly dont feel confident in my sentences, like idk if my grammar n spelling is good n if it will make sense when read, im also worried about my vocab being too simple/boring bc ik other writers try to use bigger words but i jst dont know if its needed for a simple story n/or where to even put them in sentences
ik i should prob have a friend read over it but i feel way too embarrassed at the idea of my friend reading smth i wrote n it being horrible bc they prob wont tell me directly that its bad n i would be thinking in the back my head that my friend is lying to me n feel bad about it
idk maybe im too insecure n too much of a perfectionist to be writing but my 1st fic is jst supposed to be a start to get to me to begin practicing writing so im allowed to not be perfect n i want to force myself to get out of my comfort zone
anyways if any1 who is a fanfic writer is willing to give some advice, i am very open to advice n tips
(also the way i write a story n write my blogs r very diff bc my blogs r jst rambles /wo any concerns about sounding good n my stories, i care a lot more about sounding good when read n being grammatically correct)
roz out!!

write "bad" fics until you can get a feel for it! write them in your notes or save them as drafts in whatever websites — anything private for your eyes only if you fear being judged for what you write! but also publishing something you aren't happy with can be good exposure therapy!

start writing small fanfics just in your notes app not to post or anything, to build up confidence. also read other fanfic and literature in general to expand your vocabulary, improve your grammar, et cetera.
