One of my primary inhibitors to getting work done was friendly chatter. ![]()
I'd get frustrated with myself that I couldn't maintain focus and accused myself of prioritizing literally anything else over my work. Which... was true.
Now that I find myself more solitary, I still don't get work done.
It's more of an executive dysfunction thing, I think.
Like, hey, don't get me wrong, I have a ton of work to get done, and I want to get it all done before fall break so I can spend all of my time off with my family. But- for the life of me- I can't focus on what I need to.
With a speech sitting to my left, notes to my right, and a half-finished paper and presentation sitting open on my laptop... I would much rather sit here and let my laptop battery die while writing this blog.
Maybe I deserve just a LITTLE break. I DID ace my Western Art History midterm...
