Film Review: Angel's Egg (1985)

I watched this with the lovely people at The Rewind Lounge :)

Okay. This one was weird. Weird but cool. Very visually and audibly striking, the sound and visual design of it all was insane and surreal and I loved it.

I'm not gonna lie, I only had a vague idea of what was going on throughout the whole thing, definitely a movie to watch multiple times. It was very beautiful though, a really cool art film. I love a weird little movie so it was right up my alley lol! Lowkey it was also kinda terrifying but in a cosmic sort of way, like the movie in itself isn't that scary but the implications of it all was really unnerving. That, coupled with the largely dialogue free nature of the film really just kinda unsettled me. I like being unsettled though, so I enjoyed it.

This movie has a lot going on, we got biblical references, we got insane ass visuals, we got metaphors for DAYS. It's SO strange and I really enjoyed watching it. I will be watching again.
