Friend almost died Infront of me (graphic warning & long story)

To start it off I will not be saying any names at all for the respect of the family this is just to vent because this was truly the most insane shit I've seen so me and my friend were off-roading in a quad only me and him with 1 quad I was behind him while he would ride a couple hours later were at a park with 3 other people all friends, friend 1 decides to ask friend 2 if he could ride his quad, friend 2 says "yes". Now friend 3 has a dirt bike he got on it and friend 1 is going down a trail super fast while friend 3 is going the same path and the end of the trail into this big plot of sand hard sand. so friend 3 is in this big plot of hard sand and goes to the end of the trail where friend 1 is coming out of super fast, friend 3 reacts goes to the side hits his head but he has a helmet, then friend 1 with no helmet comes flying from the trail with a second of air time and hits friend 3 on the rear tire of his dirt bike and friend 1 hits friend 3 with his whole bumper and left tire and super close to the handle bars and both are on the floor and hit their heads super hard on the ground both are not moving but then after a couple of seconds after me and friend 2 run over there they start to convulse friend 2 is crying freaking out and wondering if they're gonna die. I'm calming him down telling him to focus on friend 3 because he has his helmet and he's convulsing but friend 1 doesn't have a helmet, and hit the ground super hard on his head and he's having a nosebleed and he's just shaking uncontrollably and is making weird noises and biting his lip at this sight I was so fucking scared I wanted to break down while my friend was dying In front of me but I battled through it and told friend 2 to call the cops and watch out for friend 3, while I try to help out friend 1 a random person doing donuts in the back stops to see what's going on and helps friend 1 get his mouth open so he can breath because he's hyperventilating. and having trouble to breath. while we were helping friend 3 gets up asking what happened and how his ankle hurts so I tell friend 2 to help out friend 3 while me and this random guy help friend 1, then friend 1 says "my head hurts" while screaming which made me so happy because he's awake and he's not dead and he keeps trying to move, by the time this happens ambulance finally comes and helps friend 1 while I'm calming down friend 3 because we both just saw our friend since 5th grade almost died right In front of our eyes now I'm not crying I'm shocked and scared if he'll die but I'm not crying, at some moments I did like a little tear but I cant get my mind off of how he was shaking uncontrollably and how his head hit the ground so hard I'm shocked on how he wasn't bleeding from his head now me and friend 3 are traumatized from seeing our friend literally almost die from not having a helmet. when everyone got picked up and when both friends were airlifted everyone went home. my dad kept saying how it could've been me instead of focusing on the fact on how my friend since the 5th could've literally almost died. and he's just saying on how it could've been me which is right it could've but it wasn't but instead its one of the people I've been knowing basically my whole life at that moment I wanted to break down I held it back so I don't look like a idiot In front of my family I just wanted to cry in private. while I'm writing this in my room please know its so important to make sure you're safe no matter where you're at no matter what you're doing just always be careful because anything could happen because friend 1 is the safest driver I know always on top of his maintenance and super safe just this once without an helmet was the one time something happened and it was all on accident it wasn't even on anyone just a accident could've almost ended someones life now this post might sound corny or whatever but it doesn't even matter I probably need years of therapy if he really did die but he didn't he was in good hands and they took care of him which made me so happy but It didn't change on how i could've seen him almost die my mental state right now is really bad because him on the ground shaking is the only thing I can think of but at the end of the day he's okay and that's all that matters.
