Getting Catfished (storytime)

So, over the last week I've been in Florida visiting family (totally cool state, super recommend) and on the third day I was there, we decided to go out on a boat ride. Not gonna lie fam, that was an epic day trip; I mean, the nature in Florida this time of year is unmatched.

We left pretty early in the morning and rode around on the water before eventually parking on a key (not before getting stuck on the sand for a little bit lol). Once we park, we set up the fishing rods and all is honky dory.

BUT THEN one of the lines starts getting pulled on (mind you, I have 0 experience fishing), and my cousin (who does have experience) is like one zillion feet from the pole, so she's like "Reel 'er in!" and I'm like "WHAT?!"

So I grab onto that pole, and I'm reeling it, and that fish is STRONG- my back's arching, my toes are clenching, veins are popping out of my forehead. BUT FINALLY! I pull in the fish- and it was a freaking CATFISH!!

Mind you, I'm from California, so I've only see catfish in tanks and stuff in the aquarium, so being able to TOUCH one was absolutely buckwild.

Erm... so yeah, that's the story of how I got catfished lol.
