I've literally just finished Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin, it nearly made me cry.
I've really struggled with finishing books for the past few years but I finished this in 4 days, it's a really beautiful book. I got it for free last December from my college and I would very much recommend it.
It follows the story of David in Paris while his fiancee is away and his life with Giovanni, as well as the aftermath of her return. The book explores many topics such as internalised homophobia, repression, masculinity, and mental health.
As I said, I would absolutely recommend it, it is a very beautiful but tragic story :]
