So, the time of year has finally come back where I have to start getting ready for the school year again...
When I was younger, like really little, I used to get really excited when the school year would start up again. It meant I got so see my friends again and I go to have the routine of school, since my life was really hectic without it.
Then, middle school started, and I no longer looked forward to school. I no longer had any friends, classes were hard, and I was most likely running around undiagnosed, so overall school really stunk. It would be a long time before I took any joy from school.
I've reached a point in my life where school exists in a neutral space. Ever since I graduated high school, education hasn't been the main focus of my life, and I've been occupying my time with hobbies and people that actually bring me joy.
So, with the last year of college being on the horizon, it's left me with a lot of mixed feelings. I'm looking at the end of a large period in my life, and I'm not really sure what happens next. For almost fifteen years, every late summer meant the beginning of a cycle that didn't end until the following summer. Every year was measured by schooling, and now, it'll just be work and adulting.
I know this isn't the end for my educational journey, but there will be a long break in between, and figuring out what goes in that space feels daunting. So in the meantime, I plan on enjoying my schooling while it's still here to provide stability.
Anyone else having weird feelings about school? Is anyone else reaching the end of an educational chapter in their lives?
