every year the day before halloween my grandparents host a "halloween carnival" at their house. its 3-5 DIY games with dollar store prizes. it might sound lousy BUT the real joy is spending time with the family outside.
before we started any of the games my cousin fell on the coffee table in the living room and stepped on my sisters feet. ouchie!
game #1: what's in the box
the first round was a bowl of coins. my sister thought one of them had a "wart" but it turned out to just be a button that had gotten mixed up. none of the other rounds were of note (except the gnome) is that my other cousin fell out of my aunts lap and almost hit the floor. my aunt and mom caught him though.
game #2: spider ring toss
we tossed spider rings into color-matching cups.
game #3: spider-octopus ring toss
toss rings onto the tentacles of a spider-octopus blow up thing. we dont know what it is.
below is a photo of the spider-octopus. its very cute but very confusing.

game #4: ping pong board
in this game you have twelve ping pong balls with velcro dots glued on them that you have to throw onto a felt board with numbers on it. you aim for the numbers and add up your points at the end. my cousin overshot one of his throws and threw it into the grass in front of the deck, and decided to use the stairs in the front rather than the ones at the back. problem is my other cousins wheelchair ramp was on those stairs and he fell twice trying to walk down them. he falls a lot.
game #5: pumpkin roll
for the final game, my grandfather built a ramp for us to roll pumpkins down. the pumpkin to roll the farthest wins. my cousin won round 1 and my sister won round 2.
after the games were over we collected our prizes. one that caused some laughter was a rubber skeleton with a ballsack. i dont know why they made that but they did. it has balls.
anywho that was the carnival! very fun lots of laughs and funny moments. looking forward to it again next year
