These were actually journaling prompts but here we go
1. What about October do you like the most?
Halloween stuff in the stores, preferably for clothing and accessories but stores are more aimed at decorations lately. I saw a cool mug in a folder.. (i have too many mugs already)
2. Do you believe in ghosts?
I believe there's more than we can see but not in something specific. We did summon spirits with a glass once and it actually worked. I've already mentioned that before not too long ago
3. Have you ever carved a pumpkin? What design was it?
Yes. Boring, but the soup was good.
4. You are R.l. stine writing a new goosebumps novel, what is it about?
Summoning ghosts and being followed by them.
5. What is the most haunting thing you have ever seem?
Ok, were back to the summoning spirits thing. I was with my aunt, mother and uncle. I was doing a wiccan ritual that should have made a face appear in the mirror in smoke from something i had burned. Obviously nothing happened. Then I decided to set up a diy ouija inspired table. There were letters and numbers in a circle, yes and no in the middle. We used a glass as the "pointer".
The haunting part. When we had our fingers on the glass it did actually move towards letters. That would not have convinced me it was real. What did convince me was that the glass spun the whole time in a way we couldn't have done. We tested it by letting only one person hold it at the same time and it kept doing that.
Could we still have pushed it towards letters ourselves? Yes. But there definitely was something there that made it spin.
6. What gives you goosebumps in general?
Cold.
7. Are there other fall colours than orange that you like to decorate your house with?
I don’t decorate
8. Have you ever written a ghost story? What was the title?
The legend of the date 666. I wrote it with an internet friend at the time, I don’t remember what it was about.
9. Did you ever have an imaginary friend as a child?
Not that I remember. Perhaps they became real
10. Have you ever seen a door or something else more on its one?
No, but I’ve heard something fall into the bathtub behind me once. It sounded like something large but there was nothing in it.
11. Do you believe in an afterlife?
Sort of, I believe there’s more than we know but again nothing specific.
12. What is your favourite autumn scent?
I don’t think we do the scent thing here in Europe
13. Have you ever been to a corn maze?
Yes, twice. One of them recently. I don’t care if they’re simple and for children. I liked it.
14. What autumn memories haven’t been the best?
People passing away and turning into actual ghost. I guess they took the season serious.
15. What are you upset about this month and how do you plan to fix it?
More people potentially dying soon, I’ll just make sure to give them a white sheet before they go.
16. Is there a journal you love to use more than all others? Why?
No, I neglect them all equally
17. What helps you calm your soul when you’re anxious.
Ignoring it
18. Do you enjoy pumpkin spice flavoured beverages?
Aside from soup I haven’t had any but I’m sure I won’t
19. What purchase have you made recently that you don’t regret at all?
The shirt with the alien that holds a sign that says “I don’t believe in humans”. I finally got the chemical smell out. (Wash it cold!)
20. Recall the last time you fell asleep by a warm fire. Were your dreams happy?
I never fell asleep by a fire.
21. Do you think magic is real?
What I understand to be magic is either Harry Potter witchy stuff or illusions.
22. What’s one way you’ve been good to yourself this week?
It’s Monday so there’s not much to choose from. I’m doing this instead of working out, I cannot get my body up. My mind has the will to but my body doesn’t. Or the other way around, I don’t know which is which.
23. What are you most afraid of? Could be something small or big
Life. Human life specifically. Why? Just why?
24. Scariest movie you’ve seen?
Nothing scary but best the horror movie I’ve seen is Dead snow. I do need to say my expectations were very low
25. What colour leaves do you love the most?
I do like autumn colours, but I also like green. Autumn leaves do have something cozy to it.
26. Do you like to drink hot apple cider?
I can’t imagine I do. I never did as far as I’m aware
27. What do you remember about the autumn season as a child?
Nothing. Everything is properly repressed. I do remember being cold in winter once.
28. What book recommendations for fall do you have for us?
Winnie the Pooh because everytime there’s a wind storm I have to think about an episode about ‘waai bomen dag’ Windy tree day (?). I’m currently reading the first book. Now I’m hoping it’s in it,
29. What’s your favourite candy?
I have one of those white chocolate balls with marshmallows inside that you need to put in hot milk to let it melt. It expired months ago but I’m going to drink it soon. I don’t care.
30. Photography day: autumn leaves and journaling. Be creative!
No, I’ve done enough of that. 13 year old me had a marijuana leave in her agenda though. It fell apart because I probably should have dried it before.
31. Your spookiest memory
The answer from question 5 was better but as a kid we used to have “spooktochten”. I’m not sure how to translate it, so I’m going to call them ghostwalks. It basically means you’re just going to take a walk at night in a forest, but if it’s an official walk there’s people that made it a haunted forest.
